Tsar Bomba replica

If the Soviet Union would have launched an attack with Tsar Bomba, it would have been history’s most heinous massacre. Tsar Bomba was the largest and most powerful atomic bomb ever detonated. They tested it in 1961 on an archipelego in the Arctic Ocean, where it produced a mushroom cloud 40 miles high and 25 miles wide. The explosion released 1,400 times more energy than the combined bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in World War 2. Shock waves made three complete rounds around the earth, reportedly breaking windows in Norway and Sweden on the first passage.

I agree. I understand that people are going to create weapons, but what need do you have for a bomb that is thousands of times stronger than the one dropped on Hiroshima?

The current state of armament goes back to the Cold War conceit of MAD (mutually assured destruction), thus the theory is that larger weaponry is needed to counter-balance the weaponry the other side has. If everything remains in status quo, then we are safe from the use of such devices. Yes, it is dumb, but we’re stuck with the situation… The UK government, in the past year or so, has actively questioned the necessity of such a large arsenal which is never going to be deployed, so some reduction in global armament may be seen in coming years.

It was posited, before the detonation of the first nuclear weapon, that the release of such energy could theoretically make the oxygen in the atmosphere burst into flame, causing the incineration of all life on Earth. At the time it was highly unlikely, but as technology (and the refinement of the material needed continues) we are rapidly approaching the point where such an occurrence is not out of the realms of possibility.

I fear that the next world war will cause the total annihilation of humans. It is unfortunate that man have developed a technology that will destroy every living creatures on this planet.
