Channel catfish

To the channel catfish, swimming is a process of perpetual gustation. It has taste buds distributed over its entire body, making it, in effect, a swimming tongue. The strongest concentration is on the whiskerlike barbells around its mouth, which can detect 1 gram of protein in as many as 1 billion grams of water.
